3 Models from 2016’s Beijing Motor Show that Auto Repair Training Students Will Love
What are some of the top standouts being revealed this year? While the show will only wrap up on May 4th, there are already plenty of top picks to choose from.
Read on to find out which cars auto repair students are sure to fall in love with.
Porsche 718 Cayman: Car Mechanics Will Find a New Engine Under the Hood of This Model
Car mechanic students might recall that not too long ago, the Boxster was revamped to include two new four-cylinder turbocharged boxer engines—with a 2.0-litre going in the standard Boxster and a 2.5-litre in the S.
As a result, many students might not be surprised to learn that the Cayman’s naturally aspirated engines have also been replaced with new four-cylinder turbocharged ones. Like the Boxster, the standard 718 Cayman will get a 2.0-litre 300 hp engine, while the Cayman S will receive a 2.5-litre 350 hp engine capable of going from 0-100 in just 4.0 seconds.
Lexus IS: An Updated Look that Auto Repair Training Students Can Expect to See
The Beijing Auto Show has also seen the launch of the newest update for the IS. While the sports sedan’s performance didn’t change, it did get a stylish facelift with new wheel patterns, headlights, and even two additional colours for car buyers to choose from: Graphite Black Glass Flake and Deep Blue Mica.
Perhaps most noticeable is the Lexis IS’ larger air intakes and revised new spindle grille, giving it a new look that some are calling “more aggressive.” Lexus says the new design is meant to “make the car look like it’s in constant motion even when sitting still.”
Jaguar XF L: Auto Repair Training Grads Won’t Want to Wait to Work on this Car
Mimicking Mercedes-Benz E Class L, Jaguar is launching a long wheelbase version of its current XF model at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. For the Chinese market, drivetrains will include a 2.0-liter diesel engine and a 3.0-liter V6. The new long wheelbase version will be able to use either.
The Jaguar XF is quite powerful whether it boasts a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 197-hp, or a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 producing 335hp. Auto repair training students know that the car’s ferocious power is sent to the all-wheel drive system through a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
