The 812 Superfast: A Look at the Ferrari Automotive Maintenance Technicians Are Excited to See

automotive careers

The Geneva Motor Show is one of the most popular and well-known automotive shows in the world. Top vehicle brands from around the world use it to unveil their fastest and most impressive cars for the year. And this year, Ferrari offered one of the top highlights.

Attendees had the chance to feast their eyes on the brand new Ferrari 812 Superfast. Aside from being what the name suggests—super fast—the vehicle’s beautiful appearance and unique features captured the attention of many.

Here’s a recap of the new Ferrari 812 Superfast for aspiring auto mechanics.

The 812 Superfast Has Specs That Would Impress Any Automotive Maintenance Technician

Ferrari, celebrating 70 years of crafting some of Earth’s most high-performance supercars, is no stranger to fast, flashy, and beautiful vehicles. The newly unveiled 812 Superfast is no different. When designing the Superfast, the vehicle’s creators looked for ways to improve air intake into the engine in order to improve the combustion process. As graduates of an auto mechanic training program might know, an improved combustion process gives way to more power and increased speed—two things this vehicle definitely has.

The 812 Superfast features a 6.5 litre V12 engine. If that’s not enough to impress you, it can easily get from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 2.9 seconds and offers an impressive 789 horsepower and 530 pound per feet of torque. To top it off, the vehicle can reach a max speed of 339 km/h.

The 812 Superfast’s Design Is Sleek and Beautiful

The 812 Superfast is a sight for sore eyes. Unveiled at the auto show in two brilliant colours, bright red and a warm grey, the car is impressive in both shades. Designed for superior aerodynamics, the car is a two-door boasting Ferrari’s classic shape. That classic Ferrari shape with a longer front and sloping back leaves plenty of room for its ulta-powerful front engine.

The interior of the vehicle is equally compelling. Generous leg room makes the driving experience that much more luxurious, and the rear roof window creates a spacious and roomy environment. The 812 Superfast is sure to impress any automotive maintenance technician!

Features that Automotive Maintenance Technicians May Find Interesting

The 812 Superfast’s specs and design aren’t the only elements that make it Ferrari’s most powerful vehicle to date (and arguably one of the most visually appealing!). It also comes with a range of desirable features that add to its presumably hefty price tag. For example, the 812 Superfast is the first Ferrari to feature electric power steering. This means it takes up less space under the hood and is lighter, which ensures even more get up and go.

In addition to electric power steering, the 812 Superfast features a rear-wheel steering system called the Virtual Short Wheelbase—first unveiled in the Ferrari F12tdf. Typically, vehicles are steered using the front wheels only. In order to improve control and wheel response times, Ferrari’s designers opted to integrate the Virtual Short Wheelbase for a second time into one of their vehicles.
