How Our Auto Mechanic Training Prepares Students Like Ahmed Al Saeed to Open Their Shops
Starting your auto mechanic shop after auto mechanic training can be a fulfilling and profitable career path, especially when you have the right skills and knowledge to back it up.
At the Automotive Training Centre (ATC), we provide aspiring auto mechanics with the tools they need to excel in their profession and eventually open their shops.
Recently, we had an interesting discussion with one of our outstanding students, Ahmed Al Saeed. Keep reading to discover why Ahmed feels fully prepared to open his shop after completing his studies at ATC Cambridge.
A Simple Start: The Easy Admissions Process
At ATC, we understand that taking the first step toward a new career can be daunting. That’s why we’ve made the admissions process as seamless and straightforward as possible. Ahmed appreciated this part of his experience as he transitioned from mechanical engineering schooling to pursuing mechanics. “It was the easiest process ever!” he said.
If you’re eager to jumpstart your career in the automotive industry and one day run your own business, our streamlined enrollment process makes it easy to get started. Once you’re in, you’ll be on the fast track to learning everything you need about auto mechanics.
Hands-on Auto Mechanic Training to Build Real Skills
Working with his hands was one aspect of mechanics that appealed to Ahmed. “When I was a kid, I wanted to get hands-on. I loved cars, I loved fixing stuff, and that’s what mechanics is about,” he shared.
One of the most important aspects of running a mechanic shop is having the hands-on expertise to diagnose and repair vehicles efficiently. At ATC, we emphasize practical learning, with 60% of our pre-apprenticeship auto mechanic training program dedicated to hands-on training. In our program, you’ll get to work on various car makes and models, servicing everything from wheels and tires to electrical systems.
This experience allows you to hone the skills necessary for servicing vehicles in real-world situations. Whether handling preventive maintenance or diagnosing complex electrical issues, our program ensures you’ll feel confident tackling any challenge that comes through the doors of your future shop. The other 40% of our program focuses on classroom theory, providing a comprehensive understanding of the automotive industry that will be invaluable when running your business.
Expert Instructors Who Know the Industry Inside Out
Ahmed wisely said during our discussion: “ There are teachers that become teachers without having the hands-on (knowledge) of the job and they can’t answer questions that you have,”. With that being said, at ATC, you’ll learn from instructors with extensive field experience who bring real-world knowledge to the classroom. These instructors have worked in the industry and know what it takes to succeed as mechanics and business owners.
Ahmed is grateful for his Instructor, Rick, who uses his experience in mechanics to provide students with a vast knowledge base, challenge them, and even learn from them. Ahmed shared: “In mechanics, there’s always more to learn, and he is always open to (learning).” Students at ATC enjoy a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.
Preparing for Business Ownership After Auto Mechanic School
At the end of our discussion with Ahmed, he shared that he felt prepared to pursue his dream of opening his family-run auto shop. At our auto mechanic school, we give you the foundation to thrive as a skilled mechanic and a potential shop owner.
Our focus on shop safety, customer service, and the full spectrum of auto repair means you’ll graduate with the confidence to handle repairs and run a business that customers can trust.
