In Hybrid and Electrical Mechanic Training? Check Out Jeep’s Electric SUV Lineup
Automakers everywhere are prioritizing electrification as the push for environmentally friendly alternatives continues. Finally, with the introduction of government incentives available to both automakers and buyers, the production of hybrid and electric vehicles is ramping up.
As a student interested in a hybrid and electric vehicle mechanic program, you’ll likely be excited to see all the rapid advancements in the field. Jeep is one particular automaker to keep an eye on. In fact, they’ve recently announced the 2025 release of an all-electric SUV lineup. What can we expect from these new vehicles? Find out more about them below.
Jeep’s Vision for Electrification
CEO Christian Meunier says that Jeep plans to “Become the global leader in SUV electrification”. Jeep’s parent company, Stellantis, has been taking steps to ensure the fulfillment of this goal. For example, they’ve paired up with LG, investing 5 million dollars into the construction of a brand new battery manufacturing plant in Windsor, Ontario, that will support the introduction of new electric vehicles. Considering the tremendous investment and support from the government, we can expect nothing but excellence from the upcoming range of all-electric SUVs. Let’s take a closer look at each vehicle.
What Can You Expect From the Avenger?
After completing a hybrid and electrical mechanic course, you’ll want to be in the know about which vehicles suit your customers best in order to offer the best recommendations. Of course, this knowledge will help you to carry out repairs more effectively as well. The Avenger is the most compact of the three SUVs being released by Jeep, and it’s being marketed toward single female customers. Its impressive power capacity enables it to drive about 400 km before needing a charge! Jeep promises great off-roading for the size of this vehicle as well. Jeep is actually planning to install 80 solar-powered chargers on off-road trails across the United States.
What’s the Recon Like?
The electric Jeep Recon resembles the classic Jeep Wrangler, complete with a cloth sunroof and removable doors. Though it resembles the iconic vehicle it’s inspired by, the Recon will not replace the Wrangler – at least not any time soon. Jeep says there will only be an electrical version available with a storage compartment under the hood where an engine would be. More details about this model will be available in 2023.
Wagoneer S Features to Look Forward to as a Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Mechanic
The Wagoneer looks quite different from most of Jeep’s vehicles, featuring the sleek, modern design that automakers like Tesla have embraced. This model infuses luxury into the Jeep experience. Available in 4×4 and standard capabilities, the Wagoneer S is capable of an impressive 600 horsepower. With the ability to accelerate from 0 to 96 km per hour in 3.5 seconds, this model is ideal for drivers who consider themselves speed demons.
If you’re considering hybrid and electrical mechanic training, surely the rapid advancements being made in the field are quite exciting to you. Keep watching for new developments to prepare for your role in the hybrid and electric automotive industry.
