After Auto Mechanic School, You Might See How High Engine Performance Defines the Emira
The 2023 Lotus Emira provides car enthusiasts with two engine options. One engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine from Mercedes-AMG that can produce 360 horsepower. If that’s not enough, drivers can opt for the Evora GT engine made by Toyota. That engine is a supercharged 3.5-litre V-6 that can produce a whopping 400 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. After you complete auto mechanic school, you might get the chance to see this beauty in action as it drives into your auto shop for maintenance and repairs. The V-6 engine can either be paired with a manual transmission or an automatic torque converter. For better handling of this high speedster, Lotus decided to relinquish its electric power steering system for a hydraulic steering system.
The Lotus Emira Lacks in Infotainment and Connectivity
Sometimes it’s better to focus on getting one thing right, rather than getting several different things half right. That’s what Lotus may have decided to do when it came down to either focusing on engine performance or infotainment and connectivity. If you see one of these cars roll into your shop when you become a certified mechanic, then you might notice that Emira’s infotainment and connectivity is standard and nothing out of the ordinary. The infotainment system is made up of a 10.25-inch touch screen, with an extra 12.3-inch TFT driver’s display situated behind the steering wheel. It uses voice command and steering wheel controls, with no physical controls available for the stereo. In terms of connectivity, the Emira comes with the usual Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a USB and a 12-volt charging station.
A Minimalistic Interior Design
The 2023 Lotus decided to go with a two-seater simple design that offers a cozy feeling to both the driver and passenger. The interior material looks deluxe, with Nappa leather trims that come in different colours, including black, red, ice grey, and tan. The seats are heated and offer three independent temperature control settings. Also, the interior comes with a simple and minimalist approach for storage. The Emira comes with a pair of cupholders situated in the centre console, and storage nets in the rear luggage compartment and passenger doors. Also, the Emira provides 5 cubic feet of luggage space behind the engine, and another 7 cubic feet of storage space behind the seats.
