As we cruise into a new decade, it seems only right to look at the cars on every motor head’s wish list. Whether it’s a head-turner of a sports car, a practical compact SUV, or an eco-friendly electric vehicle that doesn’t compromise on power, 2020 has something for everyone.

One of the main changes affecting the automotive industry right now is the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs). Canadians bought more than 17,000 battery-powered EVs in the first nine months of 2018, and this figure continues to climb. This year could easily be another record-breaking year for electric car sales.

As an automotive salesperson, you need to know the tricks of the trade, but these cars might just sell themselves. Take a look at three of the most in-demand cars this year.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E Is Big News for Students in Auto Sales Training

The Ford Mustang Mach-E is Ford’s very first all-electric vehicle, and it doesn’t disappoint. The first edition is set to reach dealerships before the end of this year, closely followed by four other versions, including the Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT Mustang.

Students in auto sales training will be happy to know that with a max horsepower of 459, this electric car does not compromise on power. The GT edition can accelerate from 0 to 60 in a whiplash-worthy 3.5 seconds. The Mustang Mach-E can also travel 418 km on a single charge, and reach 80% charge in 45 minutes.

That’s not the only impressive feature of the first all-electric Ford. The American automaker has further invested in its Ford Sync technology, which means that drivers can expect a futuristic experience from the moment they step near the car. The Mach-E Mustang features intuitive technology, which can sense when a driver is near and adjust to their desired settings.

The AI technology also enables drivers to choose from three drive settings, including Unbridled, Engage, and Whisper. These alter the engine sound, lighting, and responsiveness to suit the driver’s mood, and can be selected using voice recognition so that they don’t have to even lift a finger.

Prices range from $65,000 to $105,000, and it’s rumoured that more than 30 thousand have been reserved by car enthusiasts already. For auto sales professionals, this will definitely be a car to watch in the coming years.

The New and Improved Mazda MX-5 Miata Is Set to Fly off Shelves

Lightweight and fun to drive, the 2020 Mazda MX-5 is everything you’d want from a sports car. The Mazda MX-5 was first launched in 1989 and far from losing its appeal, this car just gets better and better.

What is it about the 2020 Mazda MX-5 that’s got those in automotive sales careers talking? One of the most enjoyable things about the Mazda MX-5 is how responsive it is. Thanks to its four-wheel drive, drivers can maintain control as they whizz around corners. The Mazda MX-5 offers plenty of revs and can race from 0 to 60 in 5.7 seconds.

The 2020 edition also features improved safety features with i-Activsense, including forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning. It also sports a new interior and exterior, so it looks as good as it feels!

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Is the Next Generation Sports Cars

Next up is the gas-powered 2020 Chevrolet Corvette. This award-winning vehicle will be available in three convertible and coupe formats, including the 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT.

The main change to the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is that the engine has been moved to the middle of the car. This boosts performance and gives the Corvette its sports-car-like feel.

The 6.2L V8 engine can generate 495 hp, and hit 100 km in less than 3 seconds. As well as this, Chevrolet has added two new drive modes to the 2020 Corvette. Drivers can choose from Weather, Tour, Sport, and Track, and the new My Mode and Z Mode settings. These allow drivers to adjust suspension, throttle, and traction control to suit their preferences.

Looks-wise, the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is sleek as ever with the door handles and hood releases tucked away for improved aerodynamics. It’s nooo surprise then that this car is set to be a popular one in the coming years.
