Automotive giant Volkswagen (VW), the second largest auto manufacturer in the world, is beginning to make the move to more eco-friendly practices and vehicles. Volkswagen is coming off the heels of a recent emissions scandal, but has made great strides to correct this with its new ‘Think Blue’ mandate. This mandate includes plans to cut emissions by implementing new eco-friendly technologies in Volkswagen’s cars and factories, which so far has been a great success.

Volkswagen is Reducing Factory Emissions
Cars don’t just produce emissions when they’re on the road. In fact, factories can be a prime source of greenhouse gas emissions too. That’s why Volkswagen has made great strides to limit emissions produced by its factories, as well as reduce the amount of resources they consume. Between 2011 and 2015 it has reduced its factories’ consumption of resources by almost 25% through the implementation of over 3,400 environmental projects and measures. But Volkswagen isn’t stopping there. Its goal is to reduce its factories’ water, waste, and energy consumption, as well as bring down its solvent and C02 emissions by 25% come 2018.
